Panel Mandate In May 2005, the Hon. Gerry Phillips, now Ontario’s Minister of Government Services who is also responsible for securities regulation in the province, asked Purdy Crawford to chair the panel. Panel members are drawn from all regions of Canada and a diversity of relevant backgrounds. The panel has a mandate to produce a discussion paper that outlines a model for a securities regulatory framework featuring a common securities regulator, a common of body of securities law and a single fee structure. The panel's mandate includes engaging discussion on its model with governments, capital market participants and other interested parties and individuals. To this end, the panel plans to: - Meet with Ministers responsible for securities regulation and with securities regulatory authorities in each Province and Territory
- Hold a series of roundtables with stakeholders across Canada in early 2006
- Invite comment and written submissions from interested parties through this website
